You list Castaway, one more step to eliminate the spam

The news is that from the last July (2009) The Spanish Agency of Protection of Information (AEPD) and the Federation of Electronic commerce and Direct Marketing (FECEMD) have started the initiative of the Lists Castaway from the web www.listasrobinson.es. It is a question of a new service in which the citizens can register to avoid to receive publicity, by means of calls, sms, postal mail and e-mail, from companies with which they do not support or it has not supported any relation.
This is born in December, 2007 when the Regulation of development of the Organic Law of Protection of Information approves the new law that incorporates mechanisms so that the citizens pudedan to have instruments to avoid not wished publicity or spam. Between them it establishes the possibility of creating the called “files of exclusion” in which any person can register to avoid to receive this not wished publicity. This Regulation also gathers the obligation on the part of the companies and entities of consulting these files before throwing any advertizing campaign, and of to erase of his campaigns those persons who are inscribed in these files.
Now from the Lists web Castaway claims to carry out the protection that offers to us this law. The cuidadanos we put ourselves to register to be excluded from the advertizing campaigns, and the companies and entities will must consult you are ready under sanctions (economic fines) if they do not fulfill the law.
This is not anything definitive to eliminate the spam, but if it is a gesture that is going to do that some companies are more conscious than his bad practices and two times think including our information of an indiscriminate way in his campaigns.
In my opinion, the end of the spam and of this type of aggressive marketing, will take place in a natural way, the people are every day angrier with this type of practices what does that these lose his results margin. Logically, when this margin is very small, the people will stop doing spam.
